Green Trend Attracts Household Customers
The Appeal of Clean and Stable Energy Sources
According to unofficial statistics from several energy companies, household solar power system orders have increased by approximately 25–30% compared to the same period last year. Many customers are drawn by the potential to save 1–3 million VND per month on electricity bills, along with the promise of a payback period of just 4–6 years.
Nguyen Hoang (Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City) – who installed a 5kWp solar system in June 2025 – shared: “My family uses air conditioning, water heaters, and washing machines daily. In the past, we spent over 2 million VND a month on electricity. Since installing solar panels, our bill has dropped to just 500–600 thousand VND. The system also comes with an app to monitor electricity production, which is very convenient.”
Technology Infrastructure & Supportive Policies Driving Growth
Today’s solar solution providers offer more than just equipment – they provide on-site surveys, optimal system design, fast installation, and long-term warranties. Many systems also come with mobile apps for real-time monitoring and daily energy reports, allowing users to easily track and evaluate their return on investment.
Several provinces like Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Khanh Hoa are implementing programs to offer low-interest loans or reduce EVN grid-connection registration fees, aiming to encourage the adoption of renewable energy among residents.
Plenty of Room for Growth
According to energy expert Tran Minh Tuan, Vietnam enjoys between 1,600 and 2,500 hours of sunshine annually – an ideal condition for solar energy development. However, this potential remains largely untapped compared to neighboring countries. “As of mid-2025, only about 300,000 households have installed solar power systems, accounting for less than 2% of all households nationwide. With proper incentives and long-term policies, this market could experience explosive growth in the coming years,” Tuan commented.
Solar Power – A Smart Living Trend in the Age of Expensive Energy
As electricity costs continue to rise and environmental awareness grows, solar power is no longer a luxury trend but a practical choice for millions of Vietnamese families. Invest today – use for 25 years – it’s an economic decision many households are now ready to make.
